Our Mission
At AtmoSphere Analytics, our mission is to revolutionize weather prediction, particularly in the context of severe weather hazards. By harnessing the power of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and cutting-edge Machine Learning/Deep Learning (ML/DL) methods, we develop state-of-the-art tools and models that enable more accurate and timely forecasts. Our ultimate goal is to save lives, reduce damage to property, and empower communities to better prepare for and respond to extreme weather events.
Founded in 2020, AtmoSphere Analytics has been at the forefront of weather prediction innovation. Our team brings together decades of expertise in atmospheric sciences, computer science, and data analysis, allowing us to develop unique solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in weather forecasting.
Our History
AtmoSphere Analytics was founded in 2020 by Andrew Brady, a visionary meteorologist with a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve weather prediction. With the invaluable guidance and support of Gregory Williams, Braxton Bragg, and others, Brady set out to revolutionize the field of atmospheric sciences.
Our journey began with the development of the Microscale-Mesoscale Forecast System (MMFS), a pioneering product that laid the foundation for our future innovations. The dedicated team at AtmoSphere Analytics worked tirelessly to refine and enhance the MMFS model, introducing various model variations and ensembles to optimize its performance.
Behind the scenes, we were also working on groundbreaking projects that would redefine the landscape of weather prediction. These included HazCast, HurricaneVision, and STORM-Net. In 2022, we proudly released HazCast, our first machine learning model designed to predict severe weather hazards using MMFS outputs. Building upon the success of HazCast, we soon introduced TornadoVision, which further showcased our commitment to harnessing the power of AI for weather prediction.
AtmoSphere Analytics gained significant recognition when TornadoVision accurately predicted the devastating tornadoes that struck parts of the deep south on November 11th, 2023. This achievement, along with other notable successes, propelled our rapid growth and solidified our position as a leader in the industry.
In January 2024, we marked another milestone with the release of the first experimental version of STORM-Net, our most advanced and groundbreaking state-of-the-art model to date. STORM-Net represents the culmination of our tireless efforts to push the boundaries of weather prediction and provide the most accurate and reliable forecasting tools to our clients and partners.
As we continue to grow and innovate, AtmoSphere Analytics remains committed to our founding mission: to save lives, protect property, and empower communities through cutting-edge weather prediction technology.
